Pompeii & Naples

Sunday, 27 October 2013 by

I was going to go straight to blogging about Rome but then I had all these photo’s from our visit to Naples and Pompeii so I’ve had to split it into another blog. :/ I try to keep the photo’s to a minimum, honest!! So when we got to Rome we did a day trip to Naples and first stop was a castle made from lava rock with a massive marble entry. (It once sat surrounded by sea.) Then a walk through the city and a big mall type building set out like a cross with amazing marble and mossaic floors. Yes, I took lots of photo’s of the mosaics too. I was going to share them but I have heaps from the Vatican. :/ Okay, maybe just one. And people were just walking all over it!! If I had busted my butt making this I would have it roped off lol. This (Piazza Plebiscito) was just around the corner and

Mt Gambier

Saturday, 07 May 2011 by

On wednesday I drove to Perth and was lucky to catch up with Fleur Mcdonald.  We caught up over pizza, wine and burbon. Fleur is such an easy person to talk to and we had so much to chat about, and never enough time to cover it all! Thursday morning I was up early and off to the Airport to catch my flight to Adeliade and then a connecting one to Mt Gambier. While I was waiting for my flight out in Adelaide I had a radio interview and after it finished I just managed to catch my name getting called over to PA to board! Phew that was lucky I was paying attention. It made it real easy getting on the plane without the crowds.  (I got a whole book finished and started another with all the flying I did) Later I thought i’d landed in Ireland or somewhere similar as the contrast from

Getting there

Friday, 29 April 2011 by

I hope everyone had a great Easter break…I know I did. Total relaxation, fishing, sitting on the beach, reading and spending time with my family. I took my laptop but didn’t get it out to write, which i’m glad as it was good to have a real break, a time out from everything.  Not that my mind didn’t stop thinking about Sarah’s Journey…my mind never stops…hey, i’m a woman! But after getting home…and over 6 loads of washing later…I got back into writing and have almost finished the new draft of Sarah’s Journey. Ali, my publisher is busy for the next few weeks with another book so I have some time up my sleeve to re-read SJ and polish it up a bit before I send it off.  Hopefully this version is a winner….holding my breath, crossing everything, mentally picturing a contract and all the rest.  So today, if I don’t have any interuptions, i’m

Trekking to Dowerin

Sunday, 30 August 2009 by

We trekked up to Dowerin, borrowed caravan in tow and met up with my parents, who’d just come back down from a little trip up north to visit some relatives in Geraldton and Northampton, and some other friends who had already set up camp with a roaring fire and cold drinks. Here’s dad, left, cooking our dinner by his handheld light. They were two very cold nights so we huddled by the fire for warmth and listened to Terry and Geoff’s chook/internet idea. (Still think there’s a lot more research to be done!). We had fellow exhibitors pop over for a few drinks and a chat. It was great to meet people from all over the place!
