Hard work pays off

Tuesday, 28 April 2009 by Admin
I spent the last few days messing around in my front garden, shifting slabs of concrete and rocks to do this pathway. And two sore legs and back later I am chuffed with the results. The effort was worth it. Just thought I’d share that with you.

Easter at Hopetoun

Thursday, 16 April 2009 by Admin
Hope everyone had a great easter and got some kind of break or at least got to have some fun. We went to Hopetoun with the family and had a great time camping. Here’s a picture of Blake on his first trip to the beach on arrival. We did plenty of sitting around the camp

Bookish party

Wednesday, 25 March 2009 by Admin
Our latest Pingaring bookclub night was, as usual, a lot of fun. Regardless of the bottles of wine, etc, on the table, we do actually discuss the books we read (in among the gossip, as sometimes we don’t get to see each other until the next bookclub six weeks later). It’s a great group of

Speedway makeover

Monday, 23 March 2009 by Admin
On Saturday we went to Narrogin for Speedway to watch my Dad race. We arrived at Frankie’s shed to pick up Dad’s car and were very impressed with the new paint job. My Uncle Alan is a signwriter so it comes in handy and with a few helpers they had put on new panels and

Clean Shears at the Woolorama

Tuesday, 17 March 2009 by Admin
I’m into my new book called The Cleanest Cut and went to the Woolorama especially to watch the clean shears and gain some knowledge for the book. Cheers to Julene and Jason for introducing me to Nigel Reid who gave me the lowdown on the clean shears and how the points work, etc. It was

Wagin Woolorama

Tuesday, 17 March 2009 by Admin
We recently went to Woolorama at Wagin, I needed information for the next book, and so we tramped around with the kids. They had a few rides and ate plenty of stuff that sends them silly, but overall it was a great day. I really liked the vehicles on parade and especially liked Kathleen’s recently

No rusty bit of junk

Thursday, 05 March 2009 by Admin
Does this old girl still go…for sure! This post hole digger belongs to my uncle and we borrowed it to do all our post holes for our fence around the house. Beats doing them by hand. It’s a tow start job, and you need to put air in the tyres and fill it up with

The best fed chooks

Wednesday, 04 March 2009 by Admin
They certainly are! I get beautiful deep yellow eggs full of goodness. I have five chooks and four young chicks, which have grown up so fast. They live in the enclosure with our fruit trees and they ate all my grapes this year so I will have to be on the ball next year and

Early bird reading offer for Red Dust

Friday, 27 February 2009 by Admin
My good friend Fleur McDonald, from Esperance way – yay, another WA writer, is soon to have her book Red Dust out on the shelves. It’s all very exciting to see another rural style book out there and this is Fleur’s first book and I myself can’t wait to read it. So for those of
